QuoVadis 7 – SAR Documentation Course

  • This one-week classroom course for QuoVadis 7-SAR Documentation is designed to meet the demands of managing today’s lost person searches and will exceed the requirements of the Canadian Criminal Justice System. It has been used in some of Canada’s most complex searches. Upon completion of the course, the students will be able to: operate QV7 mapping software for SAR incidents, evidence searches, containment calls, natural disasters, major incidents and upload and download data from GPS units.

  • The Introduction to Search and Rescue (ISAR)/SARTECH III course is designed to provide knowledge concerning the general responsibilities, skills, abilities, and the equipment needed by persons who would be participating in a search or rescue mission.

Fundamentals of SAR

  • The Fundamentals of Search and Rescue (FUNSAR) course is the second, intermediate level of NASAR courses. It provides knowledge concerning the general responsibilities, skills, abilities, and the equipment needed by persons who are assigned to field operations during a SAR mission.

Advanced SAR

  • Advanced Search and Rescue (ADSAR) is a NASAR course designed to educate the experienced field searcher in preparation for working as a crew leader on a search. This course expands on the knowledge and skills taught in the intermediate level FUNSAR course.

Managing the Lost Person Incident

  • The Managing the Lost Person Incident (MLPI) course is designed to teach the essential knowledge and skills necessary to perform as the initial response Incident Commander on a lost person incident with the primary focus on the Search element of SAR.

Urban SAR

  • The Urban Search Management (USM) course is designed to teach students the essential knowledge and skills necessary manage missing person searches in the urban environment. This course will prepare managers and search personnel for the specific tasks and special techniques needed for searching in the urban setting.

UAS Ground School

  • This 2-day UAV specific ground school will ensure that all students gain a thorough understanding of the aeronautical knowledge required to meet the current and future standards laid out by Transport Canada for the Small UAV Systems VLOS restricted pilot permit. Topics include: air law and procedures, navigation and radio aids, meteorology, airframes and engines, theory of flight, flight instruments, flight operations, human factors and radiotelephony. Students who successfully complete the course examinations will be issued a certificate as well as an Industry Canada Restricted Operator – Aeronautical (ROC-A) radio licence.

UAS Scenario and Pix4D processing Training

  • This scenario based training will prepare your agency for search and rescue, containment and traffic accident investigations.
